-116 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

S70MD116 is an AS568-116 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.737 in (18.72 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.943 in (23.95 mm). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Silicone is specified here for very good compression set resistance across its range and exceptionally wide service temperature range. The material holds up against dry heat, extreme heat and cold, and many oxidizing chemicals. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to hydrocarbon fuels and oils or concentrated acids will shorten service life.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include ovens and heated equipment, electronics and electrical enclosures, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
