As a material, Silicone offers excellent electrical insulating properties and an exceptionally wide service temperature range. It resists dry heat, weathering, and extreme heat and cold. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C).

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include pharmaceutical manufacturing, sanitary process lines, and ovens and heated equipment.
