Silicone offers physiological inertness and low toxicity, flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. The material holds up against many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and ozone and UV exposure. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to steam above its rated range or abrasive dynamic service will shorten service life.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. You will find this material specified across electronics and electrical enclosures, food and beverage processing, and ovens and heated equipment.
