An o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

Expect good resistance to dry heat, extreme heat and cold, and weathering. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is valued for excellent electrical insulating properties and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in concentrated acids or hydrocarbon fuels and oils.
