S70MD373 is an AS568-373 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 8.975 in (227.97 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.395 in (238.63 mm). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.
This material stands up to many oxidizing chemicals, weathering, and extreme heat and cold. Silicone is widely chosen for physiological inertness and low toxicity, flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where abrasive dynamic service or concentrated acids are present.
This item is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include medical devices, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
This item is sold individually under part number S70MD373. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. APG supports cross-referencing from drawings, samples and competitor numbers when a listed size is not an exact fit.
