The S70259 is an AS568-259 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 6.234 in (158.34 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.512 in (165.4 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

As a material, Silicone is known for an exceptionally wide service temperature range and excellent electrical insulating properties. This material stands up to dry heat, extreme heat and cold, and ozone and UV exposure. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to steam above its rated range or abrasive dynamic service will shorten service life.
