APG stocks the S70336, an AS568-336 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.85 in (72.39 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.27 in (83.06 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
The compound resists extreme heat and cold, many oxidizing chemicals, and ozone and UV exposure. Silicone is specified for an exceptionally wide service temperature range and very good compression set resistance across its range. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Applications involving hydrocarbon fuels and oils or steam above its rated range call for a different compound.
Typical settings include sanitary process lines, medical devices, and food and beverage processing.
Stocked as S70336 and sold individually. Unit weight is approximately 7.69 g. Confirm chemical compatibility, pressure and temperature against your own application requirements before installing. APG can cross-reference from an existing part number, a drawing or a physical sample if this size is not an exact match.
