APG stocks the S70392, an AS568-392 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 22.94 in (582.68 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 23.36 in (593.34 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
As a material, Silicone is specified for an exceptionally wide service temperature range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. This material stands up to weathering, extreme heat and cold, and many oxidizing chemicals. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where steam above its rated range or hydrocarbon fuels and oils are present.
Typical settings include food and beverage processing, electronics and electrical enclosures, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
