This o-ring is supplied in AS568-901 red Silicone 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 0.185 in (4.7 mm), a cross section of 0.056 in (1.42 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.297 in (7.54 mm), catalogued under part number S70901. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

This material stands up to ozone and UV exposure, many oxidizing chemicals, and weathering. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone offers excellent electrical insulating properties and very good compression set resistance across its range.
