The S2.5X12 is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 12 mm (0.472 in), a cross section of 2.5 mm (0.098 in), and an outside diameter of 17 mm (0.67 in). This o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.
As a material, Silicone is widely chosen for flexibility that holds at very low temperatures and very good compression set resistance across its range. The compound resists many oxidizing chemicals, weathering, and extreme heat and cold. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving abrasive dynamic service or hydrocarbon fuels and oils call for a different compound.
This o-ring meets FDA requirements for food contact. Typical settings include ovens and heated equipment, electronics and electrical enclosures, and medical devices.
Reference part number S2.5X12 when ordering; the item is sold individually. Unit weight is approximately 0.4475 g. As always, verify media compatibility and operating conditions against the requirements of your specific application. If you need a size, durometer or compound that is not listed, APG can cross-reference from a print, a sample or a competitor part number.
