This o-ring is supplied in red Silicone 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 13 mm (0.512 in), a cross section of 2.5 mm (0.098 in), and an outside diameter of 18 mm (0.71 in), catalogued under part number S2.5X13. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The material holds up against many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and ozone and UV exposure. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone delivers very good compression set resistance across its range and excellent electrical insulating properties. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving concentrated acids or steam above its rated range call for a different compound.
