Part number S1.5X17 is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 17 mm (0.669 in), a cross section of 1.5 mm (0.059 in), and an outside diameter of 20 mm (0.79 in). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

It resists extreme heat and cold, ozone and UV exposure, and many oxidizing chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is valued for excellent electrical insulating properties and very good compression set resistance across its range. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C).
