An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, Silicone is known for an exceptionally wide service temperature range and excellent electrical insulating properties. Expect good resistance to dry heat, ozone and UV exposure, and weathering. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where hydrocarbon fuels and oils or steam above its rated range are present.

It sees regular use in food and beverage processing, electronics and electrical enclosures, and sanitary process lines.
