This o-ring is supplied in AS568-254 red Silicone 70 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 5.484 in (139.29 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.762 in (146.35 mm), catalogued under part number S70254. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Expect good resistance to extreme heat and cold, weathering, and many oxidizing chemicals. Silicone is specified for an exceptionally wide service temperature range and very good compression set resistance across its range. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving abrasive dynamic service or hydrocarbon fuels and oils call for a different compound.
