Ordered as S70255, this is an AS568-255 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 5.609 in (142.47 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.887 in (149.53 mm). The o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

Silicone is known for very good compression set resistance across its range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. It resists weathering, many oxidizing chemicals, and extreme heat and cold. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving abrasive dynamic service or hydrocarbon fuels and oils call for a different compound.
