Part number S2X36 is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 36 mm (1.417 in), a cross section of 2 mm (0.079 in), and an outside diameter of 40 mm (1.57 in). An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, Silicone is specified for physiological inertness and low toxicity, very good compression set resistance across its range. The material holds up against many oxidizing chemicals, ozone and UV exposure, and weathering. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving abrasive dynamic service or steam above its rated range call for a different compound.
