This o-ring is supplied in AS568-402 red Silicone 70 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 1.6 in (40.64 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.15 in (54.61 mm), catalogued under part number S70402. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, Silicone is valued for flexibility that holds at very low temperatures, physiological inertness and low toxicity. This material stands up to extreme heat and cold, dry heat, and ozone and UV exposure. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C).
