Ordered as S70404, this is an AS568-404 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.85 in (46.99 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.4 in (60.96 mm). The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The material holds up against weathering, dry heat, and many oxidizing chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is specified for very good compression set resistance across its range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where abrasive dynamic service or hydrocarbon fuels and oils are present.
