Part number S70458 is an AS568-458 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 14.475 in (367.67 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 15.025 in (381.64 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

This material stands up to many oxidizing chemicals, weathering, and dry heat. Silicone offers very good compression set resistance across its range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to abrasive dynamic service or concentrated acids will shorten service life.
