The S3X49.5 is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 49.5 mm (1.949 in), a cross section of 3 mm (0.118 in), and an outside diameter of 55.5 mm (2.19 in). This o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, Silicone is specified for physiological inertness and low toxicity, an exceptionally wide service temperature range. Expect good resistance to dry heat, many oxidizing chemicals, and ozone and UV exposure. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Verify compatibility before use with concentrated acids or hydrocarbon fuels and oils.

The compound meets FDA requirements for food contact. It sees regular use in electronics and electrical enclosures, food and beverage processing, and medical devices.
