APG stocks the S2.5X55, a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 55 mm (2.165 in), a cross section of 2.5 mm (0.098 in), and an outside diameter of 60 mm (2.36 in). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Silicone is specified here for excellent electrical insulating properties and very good compression set resistance across its range. The material holds up against many oxidizing chemicals, extreme heat and cold, and dry heat. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in hydrocarbon fuels and oils or abrasive dynamic service.
