This o-ring is supplied in red Silicone 70 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 7 mm (0.276 in), a cross section of 2.5 mm (0.098 in), and an outside diameter of 12 mm (0.47 in), catalogued under part number S2.5X7. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.
Silicone is specified here for very good compression set resistance across its range and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. The compound resists ozone and UV exposure, extreme heat and cold, and many oxidizing chemicals. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in concentrated acids or abrasive dynamic service.
The compound meets FDA requirements for food contact. You will find this material specified across ovens and heated equipment, electronics and electrical enclosures, and sanitary process lines.
Reference part number S2.5X7 when ordering; the item is sold individually. Unit weight is approximately 0.2024 g. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. If you need a size, durometer or compound that is not listed, APG can cross-reference from a print, a sample or a competitor part number.
