568-258 FEP ENCAPSULATED SILICONE

TES70258 is an AS568-258 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 5.984 in (151.99 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.262 in (159.05 mm). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint. The catalog record notes: ORING 70 Durometer.

PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is specified here for non-contaminating, non-stick sealing surface and strong resistance to permeation. This material stands up to strong acids and solvents, nearly all process chemicals, and wide temperature swings. Rated temperature range runs from -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges are present.
