This o-ring is supplied in AS568-428 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 4.85 in (123.19 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.4 in (137.16 mm), catalogued under part number TES70428. PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is specified here for non-contaminating, non-stick sealing surface and chemical inertness of PTFE with the wide temperature range of silicone. The compound resists steam, strong acids and solvents, and wide temperature swings. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to installation over sharp edges or tight-radius dynamic flexing will shorten service life.
