568-015 FEP ENCAPSULATED SILICONE

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-015 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 0.551 in (14 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.691 in (17.55 mm), catalogued under part number TES70015. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies. Source specification: ORING 70 Durometer.

As a material, PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone offers a non-contaminating, non-stick sealing surface and chemical inertness of PTFE with the wide temperature range of silicone. The compound resists strong acids and solvents, nearly all process chemicals, and steam. Continuous operating temperature is published at -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges.

Common environments for this compound include pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical processing, and cryogenic and high-temperature equipment.
