568-017 FEP ENCAPSULATED SILICONE

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-017 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 0.676 in (17.17 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.816 in (20.73 mm), catalogued under part number TES70017. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies. This item is further identified as ORING 70 Durometer.

PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is specified here for chemical inertness of PTFE with the wide temperature range of silicone and excellent recovery across extreme temperature cycling. This material stands up to nearly all process chemicals, wide temperature swings, and strong acids and solvents. The material carries a published service range of -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges will shorten service life.
