568-223 FEP ENCAPSULATED SILICONE

Ordered as TES70223, this is an AS568-223 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.609 in (40.87 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.887 in (47.93 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces. Supplementary detail from the product record: ORING 70 Durometer.

PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is specified here for non-contaminating, non-stick sealing surface and strong resistance to permeation. Expect good resistance to nearly all process chemicals, steam, and wide temperature swings. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges are present.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and food and beverage processing.
