The o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

As a material, PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone delivers chemical inertness of PTFE with the wide temperature range of silicone and a non-contaminating, non-stick sealing surface. The material holds up against nearly all process chemicals, wide temperature swings, and strong acids and solvents. Rated temperature range runs from -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service.
