568-229 FEP ENCAPSULATED VITON ORING

APG stocks the TEV80229, an AS568-229 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 2.359 in (59.92 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.637 in (66.98 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

The material holds up against steam, aggressive oxidizers, and nearly all process chemicals. PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is specified for chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring and long service life in aggressive chemical duty. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C).

Common environments for this compound include pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, and aggressive-media valves and pumps.
