568-231 FEP ENCAPSULATED VITON ORING

Ordered as TEV80231, this is an AS568-231 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.609 in (66.27 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.887 in (73.33 mm). The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Expect good resistance to strong acids and solvents, steam, and aggressive oxidizers. PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is specified for chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring, excellent resistance to permeation and contamination. Published continuous service range is -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in installation over sharp edges without care or service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing.

Common environments for this compound include aggressive-media valves and pumps, chemical processing, and food and beverage.
