Ordered as TEV80270, this is an AS568-270 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 8.984 in (228.19 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.262 in (235.25 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

This material stands up to nearly all process chemicals, aggressive oxidizers, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is specified for chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring and a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient elastomer core. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges without care call for a different compound.
