*048 VITON ENCAPSULATED ORING

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-048 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A with an inside diameter of 4.739 in (120.37 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.879 in (123.93 mm), catalogued under part number TEV80048. It creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

The compound resists steam, nearly all process chemicals, and aggressive oxidizers. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is valued for long service life in aggressive chemical duty and a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient elastomer core. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C).

It sees regular use in aggressive-media valves and pumps, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
