TEV80143 is an AS568-143 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.425 in (61.6 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.631 in (66.83 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
The compound resists aggressive oxidizers, nearly all process chemicals, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is specified for chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring and a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient elastomer core. Published continuous service range is -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C).
It sees regular use in chemical processing, aggressive-media valves and pumps, and semiconductor equipment.
