This o-ring is supplied in AS568-144 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 2.487 in (63.17 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.693 in (68.4 mm), catalogued under part number TEV80144. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is widely chosen for a non-stick sealing surface that resists fouling and chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring. The compound resists steam, strong acids and solvents, and nearly all process chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges without care call for a different compound.
