568-172 FEP ENCAPSULATED VITON ORING

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-172 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 8.237 in (209.22 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.443 in (214.45 mm), catalogued under part number TEV80172. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® delivers long service life in aggressive chemical duty, excellent resistance to permeation and contamination. Expect good resistance to steam, aggressive oxidizers, and strong acids and solvents. Continuous operating temperature is published at -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges without care will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, aggressive-media valves and pumps, and food and beverage.
