568-178 FEP ENCAPSULATED VITON ORING

Ordered as TEV80178, this is an AS568-178 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 9.737 in (247.32 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.943 in (252.55 mm). The o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

The compound resists strong acids and solvents, steam, and aggressive oxidizers. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is known for a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient elastomer core and chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring. Published continuous service range is -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to installation over sharp edges without care or service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing will shorten service life.
