568-217 FEP ENCAPSULATED VITON ORING

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-217 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 1.171 in (29.74 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.449 in (36.8 mm), catalogued under part number TEV80217. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is valued for chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring, excellent resistance to permeation and contamination. This material stands up to nearly all process chemicals, strong acids and solvents, and aggressive oxidizers. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges without care will shorten service life.

Common environments for this compound include aggressive-media valves and pumps, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and food and beverage.
