568-278 FEP ENCAPSULATED VITON ORING

Part number TEV80278 is an AS568-278 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 11.984 in (304.39 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.262 in (311.45 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is valued for chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring and a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient elastomer core. The material holds up against aggressive oxidizers, nearly all process chemicals, and steam. Continuous operating temperature is published at -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges without care.

Common environments for this compound include aggressive-media valves and pumps, chemical processing, and food and beverage.
