568-318 FEP ENCAPSULATED VITON ORING

APG stocks the TEV80318, an AS568-318 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.975 in (24.77 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.395 in (35.43 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The compound resists nearly all process chemicals, steam, and aggressive oxidizers. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is widely chosen for a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient elastomer core, excellent resistance to permeation and contamination. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in installation over sharp edges without care or service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing.

Common environments for this compound include chemical processing, aggressive-media valves and pumps, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
