APG stocks the TSP004, an AS568-004 white PTFE (Teflon) 60 Shore A Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.21 in (5.33 mm). A back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for very wide continuous service temperature range and near-universal chemical inertness. It resists strong acids and bases, oxidizing media, and solvents. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Verify compatibility before use with molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery.

Typical settings include chemical processing, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
