Part number TSP007 is an AS568-007 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.145 in (3.68 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.285 in (7.24 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

This material stands up to nearly all industrial chemicals, oxidizing media, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
