APG stocks the TSP012, an AS568-012 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.364 in (9.25 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.504 in (12.8 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

This material stands up to oxidizing media, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. PTFE (Teflon) offers a very wide continuous service temperature range and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature.
