APG stocks the TSP014, an AS568-014 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.489 in (12.42 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.629 in (15.98 mm). A back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. This material stands up to steam, nearly all industrial chemicals, and solvents. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.
