APG stocks the TSP015, an AS568-015 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.551 in (14 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.691 in (17.55 mm). A back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and excellent dielectric properties. Expect good resistance to solvents, oxidizing media, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.
