The TSP024 is an AS568-024 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.114 in (28.3 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.254 in (31.85 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) delivers non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Expect good resistance to nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and solvents. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Applications involving elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in food and beverage, laboratory equipment, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
