APG stocks the TSP114, an AS568-114 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 0.612 in (15.54 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.818 in (20.78 mm). A back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and a very wide continuous service temperature range. It resists solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and strong acids and bases. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.
