This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-126 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 1.362 in (34.59 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.568 in (39.83 mm), catalogued under part number TSP126. It allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. Expect good resistance to nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and steam. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service.
