This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-126 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 1.362 in (34.59 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.568 in (39.83 mm), catalogued under part number TSP126. It allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.
As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. Expect good resistance to nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and steam. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Verify compatibility before use with elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery.
You will find this material specified across laboratory equipment, food and beverage, and semiconductor fabrication.
Stocked as TSP126 and sold individually. Nominal inside diameter is listed as 1 3/8 inch. As always, verify media compatibility and operating conditions against the requirements of your specific application. APG can cross-reference from an existing part number, a drawing or a physical sample if this size is not an exact match.
