The TSP128 is an AS568-128 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.487 in (37.77 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.693 in (43 mm). This back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

Expect good resistance to oxidizing media, solvents, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for near-universal chemical inertness and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.
