Ordered as TSP138, this is an AS568-138 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.112 in (53.64 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.318 in (58.88 mm). The back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

It resists solvents, steam, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for a very wide continuous service temperature range and near-universal chemical inertness.
