APG stocks the TSP237, an AS568-237 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 3.359 in (85.32 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.637 in (92.38 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) offers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. Expect good resistance to steam, strong acids and bases, and solvents. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.
